What is "Civil Virtue"

Civic Virtue

"Civil Virtue" is a historical term that means setting aside one's personal gains to act for the "common good" of the people as a whole.
I say historical because it has disappeared from the present day government which we all know and loath so well.  Heck, it's hard to find any type of virtue at all these days...
I wish our leaders would refresh themselves on some of the old American Government terms. It might strike a cord...
